Guest List

Well I know some girls add a few famous people to their invite list. . .now of course I know that there is only a .0000000001% chance that anyone would show up but I could'nt help myself. So I just thought of who I would really want to invite. . . um top of the list of course is Robert Pattinson :o)

and I think I'm going to do Stephen Moyer, Christian Bale, and The Obama's. . .this is sooo much fun!

Invites Moving Along

Well I am quite the early bird and as soon as I had the opportunity I decided that I wanted to get the main part of my invitations done. I already put together the blue mats with the white envelopment but we just had the invitations I designed using Photoshop printed. So that meant time to start putting everything together. Here I am chugging along. . .

Well anyone who knows me knew I wouldn't do a simple invitation I ended up using 2 mats and crystals :o) It was a lot of work but totally worth it! Here are the fruits of my labor. . .

and there you have it 125 invites! All I have to do now is print up the RSVP's and then put the stickers I have already created to seal them. . . oh yeah and then all that calligraphy as well. . . never a dull moment for a DIY bride :o)

Xyron Stickers

Well I did say I would put up instructions so here they are. . . I made these labels a while ago they are going to seal my invitations.

Once you have your label printed and cut up you will place them on the xyron machine.

Turn , turn , turn

once its on the other side all you have to do is cut

and there you have it!

it really doesn't get any easier than that! That's a whole lotta stickers. . .

For my BM

So one of my BM's is getting married so of course I am going to help out. She loved all of the work I have done for my wedding so far so I have jumped right into planning for her now :o) I really should be a wedding planner! So here is her monogram. . .

And I have just designed the invitations. . .
and I did a little mock up for her to have an idea . . .

and if she wants more black we can change the design a bit and do black instead of white. . .

I hope she loves it!

Calligraphy

Well onto another DIY project. . .Calligraphy! This is the one I always knew I would have to do and have dreaded it. I taught myself calligraphy about 8 years ago when a parent of one of my students saw some of my art work (I used to draw for the kids in my after school program all the time). She said since I was so artistically inclined could I learn how to do it. . . well I guess so I told her. Yup a week later I had a second job doing Christmas cards for the rich and famous and its paying off now b/c I don't have to hire a calligrapher :o) One down and 100 something to go, here is one that I had already completed

I just think it adds a special touch when your guest sees their name written all pretty.

Monogram on Invites

I really wanted to incorporate the monogram that I designed into my inviations. I could not use the last initial because it is against etiquette to use it before you are married. So I took our first initials and came up with this using photoshop. I then made a sheet to print out.
After you have printed your sheet you will cut out each monogram. Now you need to cut out the mat to go behind the monogram. It gives it a fancier look.
Here is what you will be left with once you have all of the mats and monograms cut out.
I then used double sided tape to put them together. This is the finial result, my sister and I made about 150 of these.

I then used double sided tape to place it on the finished envelopment. I love how it look nice, clean, and simple.

Invitations

I am doing my own invitations. This is a great cost saver for many of us brides. I originally was going to make pocket fold invitations but these were less and still beautiful! Here is how to DIY...

This invitation was desinged using photoshop. I swear the program is not as scary as it may appear to be! To add some more of myself into the invite I will be sticking on little crystals in the design. I put a fake one on here to show you what it should look like.

Same with the RSVP cards, there will be a little crystal. To eliminate any confusion I put a line "seats reserved in your honor". We are not having everyone bring dates, we are paying for this on our own and this is a great way to save.(ex my 16 year old cousin doesn't have to bring the guy/girl of the moment)

Now the assembly process begins. All of the paper products for this came from www.paperamndmore.com they were great! Everything came fast and was perfect.

I had to score all the edges on the envelopment. I just used a butter knife. . . no need to go out and purchase a boning tool.

I then used double sided tape to put the mat on the envelopment.

Me and my little sister put together about 125 of these. . .

We are still working on the wording for our invitations so until that has been completed thats all I have so far folks :o)
